New Video Site Helps Charities Show How They Make a Difference
Seethedifference.org is a new website, launched June 15th, that helps charities coordinate fundraising activities and demonstrate the differences their donors are making through video clips. Some of the newest videos you can see include entries from such diverse organizations as Concern Worldwide, Crimestoppers, Liveability (Choices for Disabled People), Troop Aid, The Bat Conservation Trust (National Bat Helpline), and Asthma UK’s Kick Asthma campaign.
The organization was founded by Dominic Vallely, a producer formerly with the BBC, and hopes to raise £500m in their first five years. It has attracted well over one hundred charities to date, and over 25 corporate sponsors have signed on, including Microsoft, McCann Erickson and Accenture. Financial transactions are administered through Virgin Money Giving, so donors can be confident their money goes only to the cause they intend it to.
Institute of Fundraising’s Lindsay Boswell told Third Sector Online that Charities put a huge amount of energy and effort into trying to reach a younger audience. See the Difference brings charities' work alive to the laptop and YouTube generation, and I think it will open up giving in a new and innovative way.
